Wilston Winter Magic Fair – on again!

It's on! Wilston Winter Magic Fair has received a grant and approval from Brisbane City Council to hold a fair on 3 June 2012.

The Wilston Winter Magic Fair Committee was formed from members of the Wilston Grange Business Group and was incorporated through the Office of Fair Trading (IA 39477) for the purposes of holding the fair.

Committee Vice President and owner of Foot Fitness Podiatry Services on Days Road Grange, Rachael Bradhurst said the Wilston Winter Magic Fair had received a grant of $20,000 from the Lord Mayor’s Suburban Initiative Fund and Central Ward.

“Approval to shut Kedron Brook Road came through earlier this month, and this was the final piece of the puzzle for the committee to finish so they could start planning the 'fun stuff',” Rachael said.

"We're planning a great day of events and activities for the whole family to bring the business and local community together.

"Now we want as many businesses and locals involved as we can get."

The last fair was held in Wilston in 2005 and since then the community hasn't had an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful local businesses.

"It's a shame we haven't been able to celebrate our local identity for the past few years," Rachael said.

"There are many businesses in our local area - not just on Kedron Brook Road - and it's a great way for them to lift their profiles and get to know other business people in the area."
